I know many people don't know how to play badugi poker. After learning how to play badugi poker. I realize the game is so easy that its hard. You will see what I mean in a minute. I love playing badugi poker even though I am an texas holdem poker player. I like to call myself a texas holdem poker player in love with badugi poker. lol

The first thing you need to understand about badugi poker is that its a combo of draw and razz poker. The best hand in the game is A, 2, 3, 4 all different suits. No hand can beat it. It's like the royal flush of the badugi poker world.

Just like texas holdem, badugi poker has the small and big blind. You will get 4 cards. You have your first round of betting like the preflop in texas holdem. Then you can discard 1 to 4 cards and get new ones. Remember, you want your hand all different numbers, off suit, and low as you can get it. Now you have another round of betting. Draw new cards or stand. Now another round of betting. Here's the last time you can draw new cards or stand. Then the last round of betting.

Whoever has the lowest badugi wins.

For example, I have 7s, 6c, 4h, 3d and you have 7d, 6h, 4c, 2s
You win because you have the lowest badugi. Yes we both have 7 high badugi. (kind of an high badugi)  so it goes to the next card. We both have 6 so it goes to the next card. We both have 4 so it goes to the next card. You have the lowest card so you win.

That is how easy badugi is. Now because it is so easy. Many players that know how to play badugi will not bet big unless they have an 6 or 5 high badugi. Knowing this you should be really careful how hard you play those 7 – 9 high badugi. Sometimes you can get away with 10 – K high badugi.

You welcme, here it is plan and simple. You must have 1 of each of the following; diamond, spade, club, & heart. All different numbers, the lower the better. That's a badugi. I recommend playing in a few freeroll badugi tournaments. You will get it in time.
